Lead Frontend Engineer

Job Summary
As a Lead Frontend Engineer at Ezily, you will play a pivotal role in shaping our technical direction and leading the core architecture used to build our web-based products. You will be responsible for architecting scalable frontend frameworks, mentoring engineers, and collaborating across departments to deliver high-quality products. This role combines deep technical expertise with leadership, requiring you to balance hands-on development with team guidance and strategic decision-making.
Key Responsibilities
Architecture & Problem Solving: Architect scalable frontend systems, component structures, and application patterns while solving technical problems of moderate-to-high scope and complexity.
AI-Accelerated Delivery: Use AI-assisted tools to quickly turn product intent, requirements, or design concepts into working UI drafts, then review, refactor, and shape the output into production-ready implementation.
AI-Native Product Experience: Build frontend experiences for AI-enabled products, including streaming responses, chat or agentic interfaces, latency and loading states, fallback behavior, and graceful handling of imperfect model output.
Code Quality & Frontend Standards: Deliver high-quality, maintainable code while improving frontend foundations such as component libraries, design tokens, accessibility, QA practices, and review standards.
Product & Design Collaboration: Work closely with Product Management, UX, and other stakeholders to iterate on features, close the gap between design and shipped product, and improve the overall Ezily product experience.
Team Leadership: Mentor and provide guidance to frontend engineers, helping them grow while raising the team’s technical quality and development practices.
Qualification
Frontend Mastery: High proficiency in JavaScript/TypeScript, HTML, CSS, React or other modern frontend frameworks, performance, accessibility, and modern browser concepts.
Architectural Expertise: Extensive experience in technical decision-making, architectural planning, and implementing engineering best practices and coding standards.
AI Tooling & Review Judgment: Practical experience using AI-assisted development tools to support prototyping, implementation, refactoring, debugging, or design-to-code workflows, with the judgment to know when to trust, refactor, or rewrite generated output.
Product & Interface Judgment: Strong product sense and visual judgment, with the ability to distinguish between UI that merely works and UI that feels clear, polished, usable, and appropriate for the product.
Ownership & Stakeholder Management: A track record of owning outcomes, prioritizing effectively, delegating tasks when needed, and managing relationships with cross-functional stakeholders.
Communication Skills: Excellent written and verbal English skills, with the ability to clearly communicate technical or organizational problems and propose thorough solutions.
Leadership & Mentorship: A proven track record of leading engineering initiatives, mentoring developers, and driving technical direction or quality improvements.
Technical Tools & Workflow: Proficiency with Git in a collaborative workplace environment and experience working within a structured development workflow.
Mindset & Adaptability: A positive, solution-oriented mindset with the comfort to thrive in a dynamic, fast-paced environment and a desire for long-term growth within the organization.
Nice to Have
Generative UI & AI Integration: Experience building agentic features, AI-driven workflows, prompt-to-UI generators, dynamic interfaces integrated with LLMs, or AI-assisted product creation tools.
Design Systems & Framework Development: Experience building component libraries, design tokens, frontend platform standards, custom frontend frameworks, or contributing significantly to established open-source libraries.
AI-Native UX Patterns: Experience designing or implementing streaming UX, chat interfaces, agent workflows, feedback capture, human-in-the-loop review flows, or model-output validation patterns.
Startup Growth: Experience working in a high-performance environment, ideally within a fast-growing tech startup.
Agile Leadership & Tech Advocacy: Experience leading Agile or Lean development practices, blog writing, public speaking, or active knowledge sharing within the engineering community.
