Lead Frontend Engineer

As a Lead Frontend Engineer at Ezily, you will play a pivotal role in shaping our technical direction and leading the development of sophisticated web applications. You'll be responsible for architecting scalable frontend solutions, mentoring team members, and collaborating across departments to deliver exceptional user experiences.

This role combines technical expertise with leadership responsibilities, requiring you to balance hands-on development with team guidance and strategic decision-making.

Key Responsibilities

• Lead and give guidance to team members to help them grow and succeed.

• Solve technical problems of moderate scope and complexity.

• Identify areas of improvement in the code base and help contribute to making it better.

• Work with Product Management and other stakeholders (other engineers, UX, customers, etc) to integrate features within the Ezily products.

• Deliver high-quality code with high maintainability and meet best practices for the modern web application.

• Help improve the overall experience of our product by improving the quality of the Frontend features.

• Contribute to and follow our workflow process.

• Participate in either a technical interview or be involved in part of another role’s interview process.

Qualifications

• Proven track record of leading and mentoring engineering teams

• Experience in technical decision-making and architectural planning

• Strong project management skills with the ability to prioritize and delegate tasks effectively

• Demonstrated experience in setting technical direction and driving engineering initiatives

• History of successfully managing stakeholder relationships and cross-functional collaboration

• Experience in implementing engineering best practices and coding standards

• Proficiency in frontend technologies such as JavaScript/TypeScript, HTML, and CSS

• Familiar with React or any other modern frontend framework such as VueJS, Angular, etc.

• Experience using Git in a workplace environment

• A solid understanding of core web and browser concepts

• Proficiency in the English language, both written and verbal

• Demonstrated capacity to clearly and concisely communicate about technical, architectural, and/or organizational problems and propose thorough iterative solutions

• Comfortable working in a dynamic, fast-paced environment

• Demonstrated ability to onboard and integrate with an organization long-term

• Positive and solution-oriented mindset

Nice to have

• Experience working in a high-performance organization, ideally a tech startup

• Experience leading or actively participating in agile or lean development processes

• Demonstrated passion for technology through blog writing and knowledge sharing

• Familiarity with e-commerce platforms and related technologies (e.g., payment gateways, inventory management systems) is a plus
